Elmhurst Jr. Duke Wrestling

Youth Wrestling K-8 - Elmhurst, IL

About Jr. Duke Wrestling

Jr. Dukes wrestling is a private club team serving the Elmhurst community for kids grade K-8 living in Elmhurst school district 205.  The club team was first organized by York High School head wrestling coach Terry Clarke and has been a part of the Elmhurst community since 1980.  We thank Terry Clarke for the work and dedication it has taken to make the Elmhurst Jr. Dukes Wrestling program the great success that it is.

Jr. Duke wrestlers practice 2 or 3 times per week at York High School.  Wrestlers are encouraged to participate in meets and tournaments at their own pace.  We participate at various tournaments in the Chicago area from November through March and in dual meets with local club teams.

The team roster averages 80 wrestlers each year.  Practice teams are broken into 3 groups by age and ability and the team has over 15 IKWF certified coaches and several coaches with Copper level ASEP coaching certifications.

The sport of wrestling has many positive affects like keeping our kids in top physical shape, improving their self confidence, yielding new friends from other elementary and middle schools that makes the transition to the next larger school easier and many more.
